| Social Activism In his formative years at Patna University, Radha Sinha attended some of the prayer meetings of Mahatma Gandhi and as a student activist he came in contact with some of the nationalist leaders of the Indian independence movement in Bihar. These experiences left a lasting impression on him. He became committed to the concept of the independent India as a secular democracy committed to social justice. His commitment to social justice and to the idea of the welfare state was further reinforced by his stay in the U.K. during the 1950s. Through his travels, writings and lectures, he continues to work for social justice for the underprivileged and for promoting mutual understanding between nations and world peace through non-violence. Currently an Emeritus Professor of Glasgow University, he lives in retirement and spends his time partly in Glasgow and partly in Gurgaon in Haryana State, India .
